Visit Japan!

Do you want to visit Japan but you currently don’t have the budget nor time for it?!

Meet Google StreetView Japan!

I’ve been planning to go to Japan for some years now and saving up some money for it. Japan - as some might know - is very expensive, after all.

My wish is to make a roundtrip around Japan for a whole year, working as part-timer in some shops and live with families like some exchange students do but I’m not that young anymore and nearly hitting my Thirties already.

I probably have to “throw myself first in at the deep end” and try it for a week or two, to see how big the language barrier will be and probably to understand what for an action my wish will be.

There’s a lot to see and experience in Japan, so much that I still don’t know where to start my adventure.

These are some stuff I’d like to do (in no particular order):

  • Watch an highschool baseball championship in Koushien
  • Go to an onsen
  • Watch anime and live-action movies in a japanese cinema
  • Take a photo and pet the Hachiko Statue in Shibuya
  • Visit highschool clubs after school (if they’d let me)
  • Visit the Tokyo Tower
  • Taste different local dishes (I’m pretty open to everything edible)
  • Akihabara ^_^’
  • A shrine visit
  • Ride the Shinkansen
  • The north cape in Aomori region
  • The south cape in Kagoshima region
  • Watch a kabuki performance
  • and many more…

I’d probably backpack the whole trip but feeling anxious to do it alone, to be honest.

New Phone

I bought a new mobile phone from my provider, well it’s more like I got it for free, but have to extend my terms for additional two years.

It’s an Optimus L5 from LG, not the best Android mobile phone on the market, but hey, I got it for free.

FansubWiki and it’s Purpose

Fansubwiki has been around since late 2007 and it’s purpose is to list anime titles airing in the season and shows which groups are fansubbing it.

It’s one of the main information source for ones who are making those anime season preview charts available on the internet.

As of late, many titles are being licensed even before they’ve been aired in japan and one of fansubwiki’s policies is to add the licensor’s name instead of the groups fansubbing the titles.

Now, where more than the half of the titles airing in a season are being licensed, the site is becoming more and more of a list of licensed anime than it’s intended purpose as the site name’s implies and probably becoming obsolete in near future.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2012!

Another year is coming to an end and of course everyone’s celebrating it by giving everyone whom they love a little something and welcomes the new year with a bang.

It was a successful year for me, I learned a lot and met a lot of people.
I was very busy,.. in a positive matter. I’m going to try and improve myself to be more effective and a lot more productive next year.

I think this coming Christmas is the very first time in my life, when I’ve never wished for anything materialistic. I’m so content with my current situation, that I just want to spend valuable time with my family.

So, I wish everyone in the world a heartfelt Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Thank you, Japan

for causing other nations to rethink about their energy politics.

for examplary civilised behaviours even in times of crisis.

for being my personal heroes, the helpers on-sites.

for not losing hope searching for your loved ones.

for moving hearts worldwide.

for being still alive.

for surviving.

Thank you.

Anime Season: Winter 2010/11

A short list of shows I’m interested in from this season.

First off, I’ve intended to follow only IS Infinite Stratos every week, but since a lot of reviews has been giving it quite low ratings (hopefully just for the meanwhile), I’ll just watch it when it’s finished. It’s a pity since it packed full of nice voice actresses.

That leaves me with nothing to follow every week this season, so I’ll watch the shows when they are finished.

So, here’s my list:

  • IS Infinite Stratos
  • Hourou Musuko
  • Fractale
  • Freezing
  • Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica
  • Gosick
  • Kimi ni Todoke 2nd Season

And this is the “maybe-list”:

  • Kore wa Zombie desu ka?
  • Oniichan no Koto
  • Beelzebub
  • Yumekui Merry

Anyhow, I’m quite excited to see Belldandy animated again. =)
